Hotel Maison de Ville Announces the Reopening of the Historic
Audubon Cottages
A French Quarter Jewel is Now Welcoming Guests
NEW ORLEANS, La., March 03, 2009 – The Hotel Maison de Ville has announced that restorations to the iconic Audubon Cottages are complete and are now open and ready for guests. Comprised of seven cottages, the collection offers a charming, private retreat on Dauphine Street just one block from its sister hotel, the Dauphine Orleans, right in the heart of the French Quarter. With the feel of an historic carriage house, the cottages offer convenience and comfort to guests visiting New Orleans. The Audubon Cottages represent the first area of the Hotel Maison de Ville to be reopened after a restoration that honors the history and celebrates the uniqueness of the French Quarter.
“We are proud to be presenting the Audubon Cottages to our community and to travelers from all over the world who visit the French Quarter,” said Craig Hulford, Dauphine Orleans’ general manager. “These cottages have their place in history, and with the reopening to the public, they will continue to delight and charm guests for many years to come.”
The collection of seven Audubon Cottages, named for John James Audubon who lived in Cottage One while completing his Birds of America series, all share an interior, private courtyard which also surrounds the pool. Believed to be the oldest in the French Quarter, the pool is the perfect spot to relax, with rich accents of wrought iron seating and lush foliage.
Cottages One through Five are all two-bedrooms, while Cottage Six is one-bedroom and Cottage Seven is a studio. All Audubon guests have access to convenient amenities through the Dauphine Orleans, such as deluxe continental breakfast daily, complimentary high-speed wireless Internet access, secure valet parking (daily fee applies), and bellman service.
The Dauphine Orleans Hotel is managing the Audubon Cottages and is now accepting reservations. For reservations and group sales information, please contact the Dauphine Orleans at (504) 561-5858 or reserve the Audubon Cottages online at http://www.auduboncottages.com/.
