We recently celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary at the Dauphine. We had a king suite, March 18-20. The rooms were excellent. The front desk clerk barely looked up when checking us in. He was very abrupt & not at all welcoming. Stephen, the gentleman that carried our luggage to our room made us feel very welcome. He was helpful in pointing out places to see, etc. When he found out it was our anniversary, we came back to our room later to find he & his staff had sent us a bottle of champagne. We also had trouble with the cleaning service. My husband finally had to hunt them down at 4:30pm on Sat. to clean our room. Dennis was at the front desk when we checked out. We told him about the problems we had but he didn't really seem to care. He even stated that other guests had said the same thing. Paul, the Bell Captain, came and got our luggage upon checking out. He was the only one that apologised for any inconvenience we had and assured us that he would let someone know what had happened. We loved the Dauphine. Its in an excellent location. The service is just not what we expected.
